Lake Windsor (Lake Rosa)

21° 1.5′ N · 73° 29.8′ W

A 12-mile brackish lake filling nearly a quarter of Great Inagua's interior, the flamingos' main feeding ground, fringed by Morton's salt pans.

Practical

GeoNames position (Lake Rosa / Lake Windsor). Reached only on the park road with the BNT warden's tour (some sources say guide-only access). Flocks are biggest in the shallow brine areas; go early in the morning for light and cooler air. Do not walk out onto the flats or approach nesting colonies.

Best for
