Practical

From any direction make for 24°08.600'N 75°31.900'W, then steer about 064° magnetic up Hawk's Nest Creek about 0.4 nm to the basin (ActiveCaptain). The resort lists 7 ft at the entrance at mean low tide and 10 ft or more inside. The fuel dock is immediately to port as you enter, then a sharp turn to port into the basin, so fuel on the way in. Creek current is strong (reports of 6-7 kt at peak). Enter half-tide rising to high, or near slack. Inside, there is no current. Dockage $2.99/ft (ActiveCaptain, February 2024) plus VAT; maximum LOA about 100 ft and beam 30 ft. Shore power 30/50/100 amp, billed as a flat daily rate. Water metered (45 cents a gallon per noforeignland; verify locally) and laundry. Diesel from 40,000-gallon storage; the listing also shows gasoline. Free bicycles, pool, clubhouse and an honour bar; the restaurant is across the airstrip, so watch for aircraft. Car rental about $95 a day (2018, verify locally). VHF 16; phone 1-242-342-7050 or 1-954-376-3865. No-see-ums at dusk. Fish cleaning at the designated houses only. It is not a listed Customs port of entry. Considered a storm refuge, but not a substitute for leaving the hurricane belt.
