Crooked Island Marina (Landrail Point)

22° 49.9′ N · 74° 20.9′ W

The only marina in the Crooked-Acklins group: a newly built 35-slip basin at Pittstown Point, part of Crooked Island Lodge, with diesel, gas, RO water and shore power at the hinge of the routes to the Turks and Caicos, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. A reef sits steps from the slips and a 33-ft-deep wall begins about 200 yards off the beach.

Practical

Lodge figures: 35 slips (Waterway Guide lists 42 transient slips), vessels to 160 ft, 10 ft MLW throughout, approach depth 15-18 ft, special wide catamaran slips; 35, 50 and 100 amp power; reverse-osmosis water. Two fuel docks with six pumps (diesel and gasoline) fed from a 72,000-gallon fuel farm, open dawn to dusk daily; fuel paid at the pump. Channel marked by advisory red and green buoy balls that can move: keep reds about 75 ft to starboard entering; call VHF 16 when you reach Bird Rock Lighthouse for pilotage (Waterway Guide: monitors 16, works 14).
