Bathing Beach and Shell Beach (Crooked Island west coast)

22° 46.8′ N · 74° 20.1′ W · approximate

About 10 km of quiet sand running south from Landrail Point along Crooked Island's lee shore, Bathing Beach blending into Shell Beach toward French Wells; empty, shell-strewn and backed by casuarinas.

Practical

Position approximate, placed mid-way along the west coast south of Landrail Point as Wikivoyage describes it. In settled easterlies you can anchor off the beach (a 2015 cruiser log describes a sandy anchorage a few miles south of Bird Rock) and land by dinghy; coral patches lie off the beach, so read the water. Untenable in westerlies.

Best for

Beachcombing and a quiet lunch stop between Landrail Point and French Wells
