Hope Great House (BNT)

22° 47.6′ N · 74° 20.0′ W

A 3.6-acre Bahamas National Trust park protecting a Loyalist compound: an artillery battery, the ruins of a plantation great house on the ridge top with its kitchen, and orchards and gardens run wild with jumbey, lignum vitae and bromeliads.

Wikipedia/GeoHack position N 22°47'33" W 074°20'02" (the OpenStreetMap park boundary centres at 22.7922, -74.3336), inland a little south of Landrail Point. National park since 2002; BNT calls it a wilderness with little infrastructure, few trails and no staff on site; no fees noted. Reach on foot (about 1 nm) or by taxi from Landrail Point; ask locals or the lodge for the track. Wear closed shoes and bring bug repellent.
