Walker's Cay Customs & Immigration (Port of Entry)

27° 15.4′ N · 78° 23.7′ W · approximate

Walker's Cay is again a clearance point for boats using the marina, with customs and immigration a short walk from the docks. It is the closest Bahamian port of entry to the Gulf Stream for boats coming from the Carolinas or northern Florida.

Practical

Coordinate is the marina position; the office is described only as a short walk from the marina, so the pin is approximate. Clearance must be scheduled ahead by phone: +1 242-357-6656 or +1 242-577-6834 (as listed by the marina, 2026). Submit Click2Clear before arrival and bring printed clearance forms, one immigration card per person and proof of citizenship. Fly the Q flag; after docking only the captain goes ashore, and all crew stay aboard until the captain returns with clearance. History: ActiveCaptain reported in 2017 that the customs office had been moved to Grand Cay in summer 2016, when Walker's was closed; the reopened marina again advertises clearance, but always call ahead. Cruising-permit fees changed on April 1, 2026 (Explorer Charts summary: 30-day, 6-month and 12-month tiers, e.g. 12 months $500 for boats up to 50 ft); check Click2Clear for the current schedule. Aircraft arriving at the Walker's Cay airstrip clear in at the customs cottage.
