Petro Express East fuel station (McLean's Town)
26° 38.9′ N · 77° 57.0′ W · approximate
The only fuel point reported at the far east end of Grand Bahama: a gas station and convenience store by the McLean's Town dock, opened in 2015 mainly to serve boaters running between the East End cays and Abaco.
Practical
Position is derived: placed at the McLean's Town ferry dock (OpenStreetMap ferry terminal), which the Tribune (Sept 2015) says the station is near; the exact site is not mapped. When it opened it sold gasoline (diesel not mentioned), marine lubricants, outboard and motor oil, boat parts, fishing gear, hooks, weights and bait, plus a convenience store and coffee seating, opening at 6:30 am. Before it opened, boaters had to go to Freeport for gas. The East End was devastated by Hurricane Dorian in 2019; Yellow Dog Flyfishing reported in May 2023 that McLean's Town was recovering, with water and power back. Current operation is unconfirmed: call or ask in Freeport before relying on it, and carry reserve fuel. Fuel in jerry cans by dinghy; no fuel dock for yachts is described. For full provisioning use Freeport/Lucaya (Solomon's).
