Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian Cruise Line private island)
25° 50.0′ N · 77° 54.0′ W
Norwegian Cruise Line's private island since 1977, now with a two-ship pier that opened in December 2025 alongside the old cabanas and beaches. From the water it is the busy, brightly painted neighbour of the quiet Berry Islands anchorages.
Practical
Island position from Wikipedia (25°50'N, 77°54'W). Private: closed to yachts, and cruisers are discouraged from landing when ships are present (a 2015 cruising blog). Expect heavy tender, ferry and dive-boat traffic in daylight, and ships manoeuvring off the north side. Use it as a waypoint and a backdrop; anchor in Slaughter Harbour or off the south side (see those entries).
Best for
Recognising the north end of the chain and its cruise-ship traffic
