Anchorage· North Bimini· Bahamas — North
Alice Town Anchorage (west side, off Radio Beach)
25° 43.5′ N · 79° 18.2′ W
The open-roadstead anchorage on the Gulf Stream side of North Bimini, about 400 yards off the beach at Alice Town in clear water over white sand.
Practical
Position from ActiveCaptain. Approach straight in from the west; about 10-12 ft over white sand with good holding (ActiveCaptain, featured 2019 review). Good only in easterly winds: untenable in westerly or northerly winds and swell. Rolly from passing sportfish traffic in the daytime, calming after sunset (Waterway Guide, Noforeignland). Beach the dinghy south of town (pull it well up) or use the government wharf, then walk up the steps to Customs and Immigration. Move inside the harbour or to the bank side before a front brings west winds.
Best for
A quick clear-in stop in east winds
