Warderick Wells Emerald Rock Mooring Field & Anchorage
24° 23.1′ N · 76° 37.9′ W
The park's overflow field on the west side of Warderick Wells, mid-cay between Emerald Rock and the Malabar Cays, and the closest place you can legitimately drop your own anchor to the park office. Prettier than the north field, more exposed.
Practical
Open SW through NW - rolly in any westerly component and untenable in a norther. Anchoring permitted ONLY outside the outer marker buoys; anywhere inside them you must take a ball. Same VHF 09 at 09:00 assignment procedure as the north field. Sand bottom, good holding outside the buoys. About a 10-15 minute dinghy ride north to the park office dock. WiFi has been available at both Emerald Rock and North for a fee (about $15/24 hrs) - availability varies.
Best for
Anchoring for free-ish near park HQ in settled easterlies
