Exuma Park rules — no-take, jet skis, pets, trash

24° 23.4′ N · 76° 38.0′ W

Verbatim from the Bahamas National Trust rules document. Penalties include vessel confiscation, and several rules catch out crews who assume the park works like a US national park.

Practical

VERBATIM: 'NO TAKE ZONE: no fishing, conching, shelling or lobstering - nothing living or dead may be removed. There are fines and confiscation of vessels for poaching violations.' Trash disposal is NOT available anywhere in the park — carry everything out. All vessels including dinghies must operate at IDLE SPEED in any mooring field. CORRECTION: jet skis are NOT banned from the park — they are speed-restricted and must stay 300 YARDS off any moored vessel, but are prohibited from all Shroud Cay tidal creeks. Pets on beaches only, max 6ft leash. Open fires and fireworks prohibited. Camping needs a permit, two weeks notice, and is allowed ONLY at Hawksbill, Warderick Wells and O'Briens. Drone use requires park permission.
