Pirate's Lair / Hog Cay South Mooring Field, Warderick Wells
24° 21.8′ N · 76° 36.4′ W · approximate
A tiny, near-secret mooring field at the far southern end of Warderick Wells, entered from Exuma Sound and named for the freshwater well pirates are said to have used. Two balls, a beach, ruins in the bush, and nobody.
Practical
Only about 2 active moorings. All-round protection from wind, though some NE swell curls in from the Sound. Access is from EXUMA SOUND, not from the bank - a real commitment, and not somewhere to arrive in poor light or a big swell. Pay at the park office (well to the north) or online via ParkPay; there is no drop box at the field itself. Trails lead north from here toward the main Warderick trail network.
Best for
Total solitude inside the park
