Vieux Fort Customs and Immigration

13° 43.3′ N · 60° 57.2′ W · approximate

Vieux Fort is the southernmost port of entry, but clearing here is slow and split between the container port and the airport, and Noonsite advises using Soufrière instead.

Practical

Position is the commercial port piers from OpenStreetMap, where Noonsite places the customs officers 'down by the container terminal' (approx). Immigration officers are often only at Hewanorra Airport. Clearance is possible in office hours on weekdays only; at weekends you must clear at the airport. Expect delays, possibly overnight, which is unsafe here (Noonsite, March 2024). A 2014 cruiser account also noted customs requiring departure within 24 hours of clearing out (Noonsite news).
