Hewanorra Airport Crew Changes (Vieux Fort)

13° 44.1′ N · 60° 57.2′ W

St Lucia's long-haul airport (UVF) on the southern cape, with direct flights from the UK, North America and Europe: the usual arrival point for crews, about 90 minutes by road from Rodney Bay.

Practical

Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap aerodrome outline. Wikipedia: managed by SLASPA, handles wide-body jets, about 53 km from Castries. Noonsite (last updated March 2023): 80 km and 90 minutes by taxi to Rodney Bay Marina, about US$85 one way for up to three passengers or US$25 each for four or more (verify locally). Many yachts stop at Vieux Fort to drop or collect crew; keep someone aboard (see Vieux Fort Anchorage). Visa-on-arrival nationals arriving by yacht must come here for their visa. Soufrière is about 45 minutes by road and Marigot about 70 minutes (tourism authority), often easier than anchoring at Vieux Fort.
