Sugar Beach (Anse des Pitons)

13° 49.7′ N · 61° 3.7′ W

A pale-sand beach set right between Gros Piton and Petit Piton, backed by a luxury resort, with clear water and scattered coral close to shore: one of the most photographed coastal scenes in the Caribbean.

Practical

Coordinate is the OpenStreetMap beach outline. All beaches in St Lucia are public, but facilities belong to the resort (Viceroy Sugar Beach; Sunsail mentions Jalousie Dock there). Gradually sloping sand and fragmented coral patches for snorkelling (Saint Lucia Tourism Authority). Land by dinghy in calm conditions.

Best for

Swimming between the Pitons
