Superman's Flight (Petit Piton)
13° 50.0′ N · 61° 4.2′ W · approximate
A drift along the sloping wall at the foot of Petit Piton, where the cliffs above were used in Superman II and a gentle current carries divers and snorkellers past giant sponges and gorgonians.
Practical
Position is off the base of Petit Piton near Petit Piton Point, derived from the OpenStreetMap coastline (approx). The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority calls it a must-do Soufrière dive suitable for all levels; the current is not aggressive. The adjoining Piton Wall at the base of Petit Piton plunges hundreds of feet, covered in sea whips, gorgonians, soft corals and feather dusters. Dive with a local operator (SMMA permit); strong surface current at times, so snorkellers should have a dinghy following.
