Princess Margaret Bay Anchorage (Bequia)
13° 0.2′ N · 61° 14.7′ W · approximate
The south side of Admiralty Bay off Princess Margaret Beach: clear water over sand, a long golden beach and turtles surfacing between the boats. Quieter than the town end but still a short dinghy ride or walk from Port Elizabeth.
Practical
Position approximate: placed about 350 m off the middle of Princess Margaret Beach, outside the swimming area (from the OpenStreetMap bay outline). SVG Yachting (2025) reports excellent holding in clean sand in 5-9 m, well protected from the prevailing trades. noforeignland reviewers (2026) say pick sandy patches carefully and set the anchor well; some anchor further out for swing room. Ins & Outs of SVG says yachts must anchor at least 200 yards off the beach for swimmers' safety. Jack's Beach Bar has its own dinghy jetty at the north end of the beach. Noonsite's docking page flags security issues here in the past - lock the dinghy and the boat. Weekend charter party boats can play loud music on the beach (2024 cruiser report).
Best for
A cleaner-water, beach-front alternative to anchoring off town
Season
