Pointe Faula Kitesurfing (Le Vauclin)
14° 32.5′ N · 60° 49.7′ W
Martinique's best-known kite spot: kilometres of knee-deep, white-sand lagoon inside the reef with the trade wind blowing onshore. Several schools work straight off the beach.
Practical
Position is from OSM (Plage de Pointe Faula). French Wikipedia gives the beach as about 400 m long, with white shallows and water sports. vvanat: the lagoon stretches several kilometres and is flat despite the onshore wind. For foiling you must walk about 200 m to find depth. Wear booties against shells and pinching crabs. Boatnews: launching can be tricky when bathers crowd the start zone, and a slight current runs near the green buoy on the right of the spot. The best season is December to June. Schools rent gear once an instructor has checked your level.
