Petite Grenade Hurricane Hole (Le Vauclin)
14° 33.8′ N · 60° 50.4′ W
A narrow, mangrove-lined inlet north of Le Vauclin behind Îlet Petite Grenade. Flat calm and birdsong, and in Multihulls World's words 'a real hurricane hole'.
Practical
Position from Anchorages.co (Cul-de-sac Petite Grenade). Multihulls World: very narrow entrance with the seabed close below, sheltered from swell by the reef, and superb snorkelling along the rocks off the islet. Fit2Sail (2023) found flat water but murky, sticky mud on the anchor chain. They also met tourist speedboats and jet skis in the afternoon, one passing after dark with no lights, so show an anchor light. Shoal-draft and good light only.
Best for
A flat-calm night and mangrove dinghy exploring
