Petite Martinique Anchorage

12° 31.5′ N · 61° 23.3′ W

An anchorage off the west-coast jetties of Petite Martinique, the little volcanic cone just south of Petit St Vincent, where a fishing and boatbuilding community lives with almost no tourism. Come for duty-free fuel, a beach-restaurant dinner and a walk round the island.

Practical

Position is Noonsite's published position for Petite Martinique (12°31'32" N, 61°23'19" W), about 100 m off the west shore by the jetties. Noonsite (Feb 2025): the anchorage is deep (7-11 m) over mud and rock, with the best holding east of the docks; Palm Beach restaurant has two customer moorings. Noforeignland reviewers (2026): good anchoring in sand, particularly in the south-west area in about 9 m; friendly locals still recovering from Beryl; limited provisions and cash. Petite Martinique is not a port of entry. You must already be cleared into Grenada (at Tyrrel Bay); arriving straight from Petit St Vincent or Union means crossing an international border uncleared. Security: a dinghy was stolen off a yacht here in January 2019 between 6:30 and 8:30 pm with guests aboard, so lock or lift it. Petit St Vincent, across the channel, is a private resort that charges US$100 per person to land and use its bar or restaurant (Noonsite).
