Jack-a-Dan Moorings

12° 29.7′ N · 61° 28.1′ W · approximate

A small mooring field by tiny Jack-a-Dan islet, north of Hillsborough off Craigston, giving snorkel access to a shallow reef and the underwater sculptures.

Practical

Coordinate is in the water beside Jack-a-Dan islet, derived from the OpenStreetMap islet outline (approx). Noforeignland reviewers (late 2025 to 2026): moorings in good condition and holding well; shallow water near the reef needs careful eyeball navigation in good light; snorkelling decent but coral health poor; gusty winds can make overnight stays uncomfortable. Who collects the mooring fee is not stated in the sources used (it lies within the MPA reef system), so ask the rangers. Dive Carriacou lists Jack-a-Dan as a calm, shallow training dive with moray eels, lobsters, spotted drums and the odd stingray.
