Flying Reef Dive
11° 8.2′ N · 60° 50.4′ W · approximate
A current-swept reef about a mile off the Crown Point airport, with big plate corals, nurse sharks and stingrays on a reef top around 50 ft.
Practical
Position is approximate: a point about 1 nm south of the airport derived from the DAN description ('about 1 mile offshore from Crown Point airport'); dive with a local operator, who will know the exact site. Reef top about 50 ft; current strong enough to bend the soft corals, so it is run as a drift. Marine life: bar jacks, grunts, chubs, porcupine puffers, large plate corals, nurse sharks and stingrays. The Association of Tobago Dive Operators (tobagoscubadiving.com) lists member shops that follow international safety standards.
