Store Bay Beach

11° 9.4′ N · 60° 50.4′ W

Crown Point's busy, sociable main beach, two minutes from the airport: clear water on a gentle shelf, lifeguards, local food kiosks, craft stalls and the glass-bottom boats for Buccoo Reef.

Practical

Position is the beach (OpenStreetMap way 175449232). Small and hemmed in by the Coco Reef hotel and rocks; tides change how much sand is exposed, and waves can be big on rough days. Lifeguards patrol the flagged bathing area. Chair rentals, craft huts, cookshops, an ice-cream kiosk and bars across the road (Rough Guides). Shadeless (Discover T&T). It is also the yachts' landing beach for the Store Bay anchorage: there is no dinghy dock, so drag the dinghy up near Bago's. Buccoo Reef tour tickets are sold at Booth #15 at the Store Bay facility.

Best for

Lunch ashore, swimming and the Buccoo Reef boats
