Store Bay Beach Food Huts
11° 9.4′ N · 60° 50.4′ W
A row of family-run food huts facing Store Bay Beach, serving Tobago's classic crab and dumplin', roti, pelau, macaroni pie and fresh juices, steps from where you drag the dinghy ashore.
Practical
Huts named by Rough Guides: Miss Jean's, Miss Trim's, Miss Joycie's, Alma's, Sylvia's and Miss Esmie's, open daily roughly 8:30 am to 8:30 pm depending on trade. Breakfast is bake with fish or eggs, buljol or smoked herring; lunch is roti, stews, conch or crab and dumplin', pelau, callaloo and ground provisions; drinks include mauby, sea-moss and peanut punch. A 2015 cruiser rated the bake and shark sold by 'Jackie' near the petrol station the best on the island (verify locally). Craft huts, beach-chair rentals, bars and an ice-cream kiosk are behind the beach; lifeguards patrol the flagged swimming area.
