Englishman's Bay Anchorage

11° 17.6′ N · 60° 40.3′ W · approximate

Often called Tobago's most beautiful beach: a secluded crescent of yellow sand between two rainforest headlands, with no development beyond one small café. Noforeignland reviewers rate it the island's top anchorage.

Practical

Position is a point about 160 m off the beach, derived from OpenStreetMap beach and coastline positions (approx). Noforeignland reviewers (page updated March 2026) rate it 4.8 of 5 for clear, peaceful water; anchor in the deeper sand patches to avoid coral, and some report jellyfish. Heavy beach break makes dinghy landings wet, and Wikipedia notes the snorkelling suffers from the waves. Ashore: Eula's café and gift shop rents beach chairs, and there is a small bathroom; no lifeguards. Rough Guides reports thefts from tourists here, so do not leave bags unattended. Within the Charlotteville clearance zone.
