Parlatuvier Beach
11° 18.0′ N · 60° 39.2′ W · approximate
A small crescent of pale sand under steep green hills, with a fishing pier in the middle, a fish market and frigatebirds and gulls on the rocks at each end.
Practical
Position is a point on the OpenStreetMap coastline at the head of Parlatuvier Bay (approx). Rough Guides: waves are usually strong and the water deepens quickly; no lifeguard, and fishing gear on the sand makes it poor for sunbathing. Discover T&T notes facilities, seine fishing, good snorkelling and frigatebirds. Space off the beach is mostly taken by fishing boats (noforeignland), so land by dinghy only in calm conditions and keep clear of the pier and nets. The car park by the Glasgow Bar above gives the classic view; Top River Falls nearby has a ticket booth and changing rooms.
