Baie du Trésor Anchorage (Caravelle)

14° 45.7′ N · 60° 53.3′ W

A mangrove-fringed bay tucked under the Caravelle peninsula inside a national nature reserve, with the ruins of Château Dubuc on the slope above and a little beach behind the reef.

Practical

Position from Anchorages.co. The bay lies inside the Caravelle National Nature Reserve (RNN29), which includes the Baie du Trésor and Îlet du Trésor (French Wikipedia). Anchorages.co: well sheltered, but watch the shallower areas and reefs and enter in daylight. The bottom is mixed sand and rock, so aim for clear sand. It also notes anchoring is sometimes restricted by local rules. GlobeSailor's itinerary says anchoring is only allowed by day. Fit2Sail's buddy boat stayed several nights in 2023. Sources conflict, so check the current reserve rules (Parc naturel régional de la Martinique) before planning a night. A small beach is accessible by dinghy, with the Caravelle trails and Château Dubuc ashore.
