Anse Dufour Turtle Snorkel
14° 31.6′ N · 61° 5.4′ W
One of Martinique's surest places to swim with green turtles, which graze the seagrass in the middle of the bay, while the rocks on either side hold reef fish and the cave on the point is a highlight.
Practical
Martinique tourism calls Anse Dufour an essential snorkelling and diving spot if swimming with turtles is your dream, good for beginners, with calm, clear water, coral, sponges and starfish. Position is the bay centre (OpenStreetMap). The tourism office notes turtles at Anse Dufour, Anse Noire, Anse Madame and Le Carbet. An ActiveCaptain reviewer (2023) found the cave snorkelling outstanding. Crowded with tour boats in the middle of the day, so go early morning or late afternoon. Keep your distance from the turtles and never touch them. Watch for small boats.
