Grande Anse d'Arlet to Anse Dufour Trail
14° 30.8′ N · 61° 5.2′ W · approximate
A signposted forest trail climbs from the north end of Grande Anse over the ridge to Anse Dufour, with a side loop out to Cap Salomon and one open view across to Fort-de-France near the top.
Practical
Doyle Guides: from the dock turn left along the road behind the beach to the end, follow the road uphill and round to the left, and the trail leaves to the right up an old gully just past the top of the road (signposted, about 12 minutes from the dock). About 20 minutes from the dock a trail map marks a junction with the loop to Cap Salomon and back along the coast. The summit is about 40 minutes from the dock; Anse Dufour about 1 hour 30. The return by road takes about 1 hour 15 and has fast traffic. The trail is mostly shaded scrub with slippery rocks in places. It can continue to Anse à l'Âne via the valley behind Anse Noire. Position is approximate: the trail midpoint between the bays.
