Cap Salomon Dive

14° 30.5′ N · 61° 6.1′ W · approximate

A reef of enormous boulders stacked on top of each other at the foot of Cap Salomon, around 20 m deep, where divers regularly meet stingrays, spotted eagle rays and a large colony of big snappers.

Practical

Martinique tourism describes the site at about 20 m (65 ft). Position is just off the cape (OpenStreetMap Cap Salomon and the battery ruins). The dive boats moor here, so we have not given an exact mooring position. Dive with a local centre: O' Fil de l'Eau and Abyss Plongée at Grande Anse, and Anses d'Arlet Plongée and Mada Plongée in the bourg, all go here. The rounding off the cape is exposed to wind and current, so do not anchor a yacht on the dive site. Touching or taking any marine life is prohibited.
