Potter's by the Sea

18° 43.4′ N · 64° 22.9′ W

The lively, graffiti-walled beach restaurant right beside the main Setting Point dock, where your lobster is pulled from the pen and grilled over wood-fired charcoal. Livelier than its neighbours, with music and limbo after dinner.

Practical

Position from the BVI Tourism listing (OpenStreetMap agrees). Large dinghy dock and no car park: almost all its custom arrives by boat (2017 visitor). Dinner only; reservations required by 5 pm (BVI Tourism listing, price range US$25 to US$50, verify locally). A 2017 cruiser reported orders taken in person or by radio by 6 pm with dinner served at 8 pm; confirm the current cutoff on arrival. Grills use wood collected from the island's interior. Visitors sign the walls: bring a marker. The government ferry dock is right next door, and Wikivoyage notes Riteway (Tortola) delivers groceries to that dock by ferry on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Taxis gather here.
