Anegada Reef Hotel

18° 43.4′ N · 64° 22.9′ W

The island's original yachtie hotel, opened on the beach at Setting Point in 1976 by Lowell and Vivian Wheatley and now run by their children. Its candlelit beach dinners of spiny lobster grilled over the fire are the classic Anegada night out.

Practical

Position from the BVI Tourism listing. Dinghy dock in front of the hotel. Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to sailing visitors as well as hotel guests; lobster lunch and dinner require a reservation (BVI Tourism listing price range US$5 to US$52, verify locally). Reservation cutoffs vary by source: Sail Magazine (2015) gives a 3 pm daily cutoff for lobster dinner; book on arrival in person or ask whether they still take orders by VHF. Beach bar with an honour tab and sunset views (watch for the green flash). Gift shop with T-shirts, hats and souvenirs (Wikivoyage). Works with Out & About Rentals for Jeeps and trucks (hotel site). The hotel is one of the two contacts Noonsite gives for overnight moorings, and a 2017 visitor reported the yellow balls in the field belong to the hotel (US$30/night then, verify locally); a 2012 visitor paid for the mooring ashore here. Phone 284-495-8002 (hotel site).
