Anegada Lobster Festival

18° 43.4′ N · 64° 22.9′ W · approximate

A three-day island-wide lobster feast held each year in late November, when Anegada's restaurants each serve the local spiny lobster their own way amid live music, DJs, crafts, beach parties and lobster education exhibits.

Practical

Position is approximate: the Setting Point restaurant strip, though venues are spread across the island. Dates: November 27 to 29, 2026 (Virgin Islands Sailing); the 10th edition ran November 25 to 27, 2022 with lobster served at 10 restaurants, organised by the Anegada Lobster Association with the BVI Tourist Board (Virgin Islands News Online). The festival generally falls on the weekend after US Thanksgiving: confirm each year with the BVI Tourist Board. Moorings fill quickly on festival weekend: arrive early in the day and plan two nights if you can; carry cash for taxis and small vendors; make dinner reservations as soon as you arrive (Virgin Islands Sailing). Late November is the tail of hurricane season and the start of the winter-swell period: watch the forecast for the crossing.
