Mingo Cay
18° 21.6′ N · 64° 49.2′ W
A steep 186-ft cay in the chain west of Lovango, flanked by shoal passages and rocks, visited by day boats in calm weather.
Practical
Position is the GNIS point for Mingo Cay. Coast Pilot 5: between Mingo and Grass Cays is a narrow shoal passage with a bare 15-ft rock near the middle, passable by dinghy only on very calm days, with several bare rocks to the east; Lovango lies east across a 300-yard shoal passage with strong tidal current in its 13-ft boat channel. No park moorings are listed for Mingo in the NPS Compendium. Snorkel only in settled weather from a tended dinghy.
