Carval Rock

18° 22.2′ N · 64° 47.7′ W

A sheer, beachless pinnacle east of Congo Cay where walls drop to around 80 ft: the area's best advanced dive, with big schools and strong current.

Practical

Position is the GNIS point for Carval (Carvel) Rock, less than 2 acres. Coast Pilot 5: 0.3 mile east of Congo Cay with smaller rocks between; day-use mooring buoys reported on the south end. The island guide notes depths upward of 80 ft and steep formations for more advanced divers. Landing is practically impossible (Wikipedia). Exposed to swell and current; it marks the northwest side of Windward Passage.
