Beach· Tortola· Virgin Islands (BVI, USVI and Spanish Virgins)
Josiah's Bay (Tortola)
18° 26.9′ N · 64° 35.4′ W · approximate
A north-shore surf beach on Tortola's east end, popular with local surfers and home to a couple of beach bar-restaurants; Wikipedia lists it among the island's best north-coast beaches.
Practical
Position approximate: placed just seaward of the unnamed beach polygon beside Josiah's Bay Pond on OpenStreetMap (way 464098245); not checked against a chart. Wikivoyage calls it a surfer's beach popular with locals, with The Grape Tree (moderately priced food) and a larger bar with a big drinks list. No moorings or charted anchorage were found in any source checked: it is an open, north-facing surf beach, so treat it as a by-land outing (taxi from Road Town, Maya Cove or Trellis Bay) or a calm-weather day stop only, and never in a north swell. Surf means shore break and possible currents for swimmers.
Best for
Surf-watching and a beach-bar lunch on the north shore
Season
Surf in winter north swells (Nov–Apr); calmer in summer
