The international clearance offices for the eastern Gulf are on the mainland near the Cambodian border at Khlong Yai, about an hour's drive from Laem Ngop. Plan a day trip by road.
Practical
Noonsite (May 2018): check in and out of Thailand at Khlong Yai, where Immigration moved from Laem Ngop; the new office is not far from the Cambodian border and from Customs. Noonsite gives the immigration office's map coordinates as 11.7626104N 102.8882646E (used here). The Southeast Asia Pilot says Customs is about an hour's drive from Laem Ngop on the road to Cambodia. AIS is mandatory in Thai waters, and harbour-master clearance and inter-provincial movement rules apply (see the area entry). Procedures here change; confirm the current process with Trat Immigration, Customs or a clearance agent before arriving from Cambodia or leaving for it.
