Ao Salat (Koh Kut)

11° 42.5′ N · 102° 34.2′ E

A large stilted fishing village of mixed Thai and Cambodian families on Koh Kut's northeast coast, built on boardwalks over the water. It is worth seeing by road, but the Pilot rates it a poor anchorage.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot position 11°42.542N 102°34.205E, 7 nm from Koh Maisi Lek. Limited protection on the east side in the SW season; not a good anchorage and of little interest to sailors. The Lost Passport: stilt houses and boardwalks over the water, with no accommodation, so visit as a day trip by motorbike or songthaew from the west coast. OpenStreetMap maps Wat Ao Salad nearby.
