6° 42.1′ N · 99° 38.8′ E · approximate

Almost everything in this subregion apart from the Bulon group, Khao Yai and the mainland lies inside Mu Ko Tarutao National Marine Park, Thailand's oldest marine park, and every foreign visitor pays an entry fee.

Practical

Published fees: 200 THB per foreign adult, 100 THB per child aged 3-14; Thai 40 / 20 THB (thainationalparks.com, as of June 2026). Wikivoyage: the ticket is valid about 5 days and covers nearby islands, so keep it. Scuba: 200 THB per diver per day plus a one-time 70 THB in-water insurance fee (Ko Lipe Diving School). The Southeast Asia Pilot quotes a 500 THB per person landing fee at Ao Pante, an older figure. Rules: moorings mandatory where laid, anchoring on reef penalised, no fishing or fish-feeding, and plastic and styrofoam containers banned since November 2018 (Wikipedia). Position approximate: Tarutao park HQ visitor centre at Ao Pante, where fees can be paid; rangers also collect at Lipe, Adang and Rawi. Verify locally.
