Love Koh Tao Viewpoint
10° 5.2′ N · 99° 50.4′ E
A hilltop sign and lookout at the island's reservoir, on the hiking route between Sairee and Tanote Bay: a local favourite for photos looking east over the jungle to the Gulf.
Practical
Position from OpenStreetMap (view direction 120°, toward the south-east). Koh Tao Complete Guide places it at the reservoir, 500 m from the Two View crossroads, on the 4.6 km, roughly 3-hour Sairee Beach to Tanote Peak hike, which also passes West Coast Viewpoint and Tanote Peak (320 m, the island's highest viewpoint) and ends at a seasonal waterfall in Tanote Bay; a 600 m section is partly washed away and needs some easy scrambling. Refreshments are sold at the reservoir. Start from Sairee Soi 1 (Soi Moonlight), or ride a taxi up the Tanote road. Carry water and go early; the trail is steep and hot.
Best for
A half-day hike across the island
