Koh Yao Noi Northwest Bay Anchorage

8° 11.1′ N · 98° 37.5′ E

A pretty anchorage on the outer edge of a deep bay backed by mangroves and flat ground at the north end of Koh Yao Noi. It is protected in both seasons.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 08°11.058N 98°37.484E, about 19 nm from Yacht Haven. Anchor well out in 4–5 m, mud, good holding, and leave swinging room for onshore breezes. The bay dries a long way out at low tide, so land the dinghy at high tide only. A beach with a few huts lies at the back, with trails on either side of the creek. The northern tip of Koh Yao Noi is inside Ao Phang Nga National Park.
