Koh Rok Nok North Beach

7° 12.6′ N · 99° 3.8′ E

A long strip of powder-white sand on the channel side of Koh Rok Nok, with a small fishermen's shrine full of carved wooden phallic offerings at one end.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot notes the animist shrine on the north beach of Rok Nok, built by local fishermen; leave it undisturbed. Land the dinghy away from the swim lines. Busy with day trippers from about 10am to 5pm; empty early and late. No barbecues on park beaches. Position from the OpenStreetMap beach polygon (Ao San Chao, 'Shrine Beach').

Best for

Early-morning swims on Koh Rok's best sand

Season

Nov-May
