Koh Rang North Anchorage

An anchorage off the northern tip of Koh Rang, the uninhabited marine-park island at the heart of the archipelago's best reef. Beaches and coral are close by.
Practical
Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 11°48.211N 102°23.413E, 20 nm from Khlong Son: good overnight anchorage in the SW season; nice beaches and good snorkelling. The national park fee is 400 THB (Pilot, undated; other sources give 200 THB, verify). There are no restaurants ashore, and the Park HQ snack shop is the only facility. Visit the coral islets east of Koh Rang early morning or after 4pm, when the day boats have gone. Watch for the Koh Tien spire to the northwest.
