Koh Phanak Northwest Bay Anchorage

8° 11.3′ N · 98° 29.1′ E

Another good overnight spot off Koh Phanak's west side, where passages lead into several hongs inside the island. Tour canoes visit daily, so staying overnight gets you quiet access after they leave.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot waypoint 08°11.281N 98°29.107E. About 5 m, good holding. The hongs are reachable only by dinghy or canoe at certain tide states. Klong Khean on the mainland opposite has an all-tide commercial jetty. Ao Phang Nga National Park fee is collected in cash by rangers who come to the boat: Southeast Asia Pilot quotes 400 THB per person per day (undated, verify locally); a cruising yacht in January 2025 paid 300 THB per person on a receipt valid five days.

Best for

Late-afternoon hong exploring after the tours leave
