Koh Ngai South Double Bay Moorings

7° 24.0′ N · 99° 12.7′ E · approximate

A wide double bay at Koh Ngai's southern end with a buoyed-off coral reef, heavy yacht moorings, beach bars and a short jungle walk across to the east coast.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot: several heavy mooring buoys and a buoyed coral reef area; good daytime snorkelling with beach bars and restaurants ashore; a shady 30-minute jungle path crosses to the east coast. Use the moorings rather than anchoring near the reef. OpenStreetMap marks snorkelling spots and the '2 Rocks' dive site off this bay. A hill with two viewpoints is reached from the southern beaches (Wikivoyage). Position approximate: between Ao Muang and Ao Kra Yi beaches as mapped in OpenStreetMap; the mooring buoys themselves are not charted.
