Koh Chuak & Koh Waen

7° 24.4′ N · 99° 13.9′ E

Two small rocky islets between Koh Ngai and Koh Muk with sheltered coral gardens, popular with the Trang four-island boat tours and an easy dinghy or canoe excursion from Koh Ngai.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot describes Koh Ma and Koh Chuak as rocky outcrops for dinghy or canoe exploring from Koh Ngai. Wikivoyage's diving guide lists Ko Wean, Ko Chueak, Ko Maa and Ko Ngai as sheltered sites when the sea is too rough for Koh Ha. Koh Waen, about 3 km south-east at 7.3796N 99.2471E, has a dive site at its train wreck (see separate entry). Koh Chuak is within Hat Chao Mai National Park (Thai Wikipedia). Pick up a mooring if one is free; do not anchor on coral. Busy with tour boats from late morning. Position from the OpenStreetMap Ko Chueak Nai islet.
