6° 29.1′ N · 99° 18.3′ E

Lipe's Immigration checkpoint on Pattaya Beach, set up for the Langkawi ferry and usable by yachts — the most convenient Thai port of entry for boats coming north from Langkawi.

Practical

Noonsite lists Koh Lipe as a Thai port of entry, with Immigration and Customs on the island (the Southeast Asia Pilot notes there is no Harbour Department office). International clearance is only possible in the ferry season, roughly mid-October to mid-May. Cruiser report on Noonsite (7 Nov 2024): all fees paid at the ferry office beside the main immigration office. Check-in: Immigration 500 THB per person, Customs 400 THB, Marine Office (Harbour Master) 200 THB. Check-out: Immigration 500 THB per person, Customs 600 THB, Marine Office 800 THB. These rates applied Monday–Friday 8:30am–4pm only; weekends, after hours and holidays cost more. Skipper and crew were given 30-day stays, passengers 60 days. A 2015 Noonsite report adds that Lipe cannot issue special visas, so arrange any visa you need beforehand; Thailand cut visa-free stays to 30 days for many nationalities from 15 September 2026 (see the area file). Anchor off Pattaya Beach to clear (see the South Anchorage entry). Verify fees and procedure locally.
