Koh Lanta Port of Entry (Saladan)
7° 38.9′ N · 99° 2.5′ E · approximate
Koh Lanta is listed by Noonsite as one of Thailand's ports of entry, but in practice most yachts clear in at Phuket (Ao Chalong), Krabi or Koh Lipe and only report their movements here.
Practical
Noonsite's Thailand page lists Koh Lanta among its main ports of entry but gives no office location, hours or procedure, and none of the sources consulted describe an international clearance done here; confirm with the Krabi Harbour Master before relying on it. Lanta is in Krabi province, and Thailand requires a harbour-master check-out and check-in when moving between provinces (Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang, Satun). Noonsite reports Krabi officials fining yachts 5,000 THB (2020) for not checking into the province from their previous Thai port. The Trang islands south of Koh Ngai are in Trang province. AIS is mandatory for foreign yachts in Thai waters. Position approximate: placed at Saladan pier, Lanta's main port; the actual office location was not confirmed.
