Koh Khai Rock Arch (Satun)

6° 34.2′ N · 99° 28.0′ E

A natural stone arch on the beach of tiny Koh Khai, the emblem of Tarutao National Park, framing turquoise water between Tarutao and Adang.

Practical

Position: OpenStreetMap 'stone arch, Koh Khai'. Wikivoyage (Satun province): Koh Khai lies west of Tarutao, between Tarutao and Adang, known for its natural stone arch, the park's symbol, with coral reefs around. thainationalparks.com: very small island, day trips only; longtails from Lipe about 3,500 THB per day. The Southeast Asia Pilot calls the island Koh Chuku (also Koh Bon); OpenStreetMap maps it as Ko Khai with Ko Chuku as an English name. Day-trippers from Lipe crowd the arch for photos; early morning, lunchtime and late afternoon are quieter. Do not confuse with the Koh Khai islands off Phuket.
