HTMS Chang Wreck

11° 53.7′ N · 102° 15.4′ E

Thailand's largest dive wreck: the ex-USS Lincoln County (LST-898), a WWII tank landing ship scuttled upright on sand in November 2012. Barracuda school around her masts, and whale sharks pass mostly January to April.

Practical

Southeast Asia Pilot 11°53.692N 102°15.448E, which matches Thai Wreck Diver's 11°53'41.48N 102°15'26.94E. The seabed is at about 30–32 m and the crow's nest is about 3 m below the surface. Sources differ on the main deck, putting it at 20–25 m; the bridge and captain's cabin are around 12 m. It is about 100 m long. It suits Advanced Open Water divers and above, about 40 minutes by dive boat from Bang Bao. Upper decks sit above the thermocline. Inside are troop cabins, briefing rooms, corridors and an engine room. Penetration needs wreck training. BB Divers charged 3,500 THB for a two-dive fun-dive trip in 2025–26. Use a dive operator's mooring rather than anchoring on the wreck.

Best for
